Summer Season 2024
Synopsis
Theatre Space’s Summer of Shakespeare is back with a bang in 2024, with two full-scale modern verse adaptations of Shakesepare plays.
As You Like It (Linisfarne, AD 793) will see new regimes push out the old with an Anglo-Saxon/Viking spin, whilst Julius Caesar (Monkwearmouth Colliery, 1984) will commemorate the 40th anniversary of the national miners’ strike and the societal and politcal unrest of the time.
Roles:
20 roles available, across both productions. All those interested must have the ability to perform in non-theatre spaces as well as outdoors, regardless of environment, to an audience made up of the general public, both planned and potential passers-by. Performers will need to be comfortable working alongside community performers and performers in training. Strong singing voices, combat skills, and instrumental skills are desirable, but not essential.

Round 1 - Expression of interest and short monologue self-tape to be completed via the application form before midnight on Sunday 7th April 2024
Round 2 - Successful applicants from Round 1 with be invited to attend a workshop audition in Sunderland on Thursday 24th or Friday 25th April 2024
